Martin Krajčo (1977) is a graduate of the State Conservatory and the Academy of Music and Drama in Bratislava. During his studies he participated in many masterclasses, where he studied under the guidance of many outstanding guitar players and teachers and has won several prizes at international competitions in Slovakia, Czech republic, France and Portugal. Krajco has performed at international festivals and recitals in Austria, Czech republic, France, Germany, Hungary and Portugal.

In the sphere of chamber music he cooperated with many soilists and ensembles (few of them Emily Van Evera – soprano, Ján Slávik-vc, Moyzes quartet and others) and since 1997 he has been a member of the Bratislava guitar quartet, which had performed in almost all European countries, and cooperated with important slovak composers as Peter Breiner, Vlado Godár, Ladislav Kupkovič and premiered their works composed for the group. Krajco intensely devoted to study of music by Kaspar Mertz. This activity resulted in many projects and recording of Mertz´s Works for guitar and guitar duo Kaspar Joseph Mertz – Guitar music for Diskant label (2006). The recording received very positive reviews in local magazines and as well as in important journal American Record Guide (July – August 2007). In 2010 was issued his solo recording Piéces bréves, with works by Bogdanović, Brouwer, Farkas, Mompou, Moreno Torroba and Tansman. Martin Krajčo at present devotes his time to playing (both historical and modern instruments), organising (director of J. K. Mertz Guitar Festival, member of Albrechtina) and teaching, recently at the Faculty of Music and Dance of the Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Bratislava.
