About Skopje

Skopje the capital of the Republic of Macedonia nurtures its authenticity and represents an administrative – political, economic, cultural and educational – scientific center.

The city center is divided into two parts by the Stone Bridge, which is located above the river Vardar and is a connection between the old and the new part of the city.

Impressive building is the fortress of Kale which offers an unforgettable view of the city and is located in the immediate vicinity of the Old Bazaar.

The old bazaar, in turn, is a special story in which numerous cultures, traditions and scents are intertwined. Through the authentic cobblestones, the old craft workshops, which revive the spirit from ancient times, survive to this day.

The sound of the folk song, the costumes, the traditional footwear, the smell and the taste of oriental specialties are only part of what this place offers. But the bazaar is home to many institutions such as churches, mosques, galleries, and museums in which are collectively resting Macedonian, Albanian and Turkish past, along with the history of other cultures.

Crossing the Stone Bridge we see a modern Skopje, where there are restaurants, hotels, amusing-festive surrounding and everything that Skopje – Skopje does.

Those who want to enjoy “Mother Nature” – the Matka Canyon is one of the hidden Skopje treasures, which provides relaxers and adrenaline goat trails, charming landscapes and a myriad of underwater caves, decorated with stalactites and stalagmites thousands of years old.

In Skopje, every step is a new study and each corner keeps a new discovery.
