Pavle Filipović graduated as the best student of the poly-instrumental department in the class of professor Darko Karajić at the Faculty of Music Belgrade with an average grade of 10 in the main subject and a total average grade of 9.73 in the entire course of study. A year later he earned his master’s degree in the same class with a grade of 10 in the final exam in the main subject.
He has won many awards at domestic and international competitions, including first prize and laureate at state competitions, Sarajevo International Guitar Festival, Sinaia Guitar Festival, Guitar Art Festival Belgrade, Internationales Gitarrenfestival Tübingen, Guitart Festival Plovdiv and second prize at Forum Gitarre Wien, Anna Amalia Weimar, Guitar Festival Rust ‘Alirio Diaz’, Esteve Villa de Alboraia Guitar Festival Valencia.
In 2018, he performed Rodrigo’s Concierto de Aranjuez with Bojan Sudjic and the RTS Symphony Orchestra.
In addition to performing at competitions, he had numerous concerts in Serbia and abroad. He gave solo recitals, masterclasses and was a member of the jury at festivals such as Guitar Art Festival Belgrade, Vojvodina Guitar Festival, Anna Amalia Weimar, Hamburger Gitarrenforum, Tuzla Guitar Week, Montijo International Guitar Festival Portugal.
During his schooling he attended masterclasses with Hubert Käppel, Eliot Fisk, Gabriel Bianco, Marco Tamayo, Zoran Dukić, Pavel Steidl, Dušan Bogdanović, Oscar Ghiglia, Goran Krivokapić, Xuefei Yang, Thomas Offermann, Costas Cotsiolis, Judicaël Perroy, Lorenzo Micheli.
